Migrants Service
We work tirelessly to support migrant populations, who face severe socio-economic challenges, striving to ensure a smoother transition into safer and more secure environments. Our efforts span intra-state migrants from northern India, distressed inter-state migrants, and external migrants working abroad. Through two centres
- Jesuit Migrant Service (JMS)
- The Jesuit Migrant Ministry External (JMMEx)
We provide critical support such as shelter, employment assistance, and community engagement, all aimed at helping migrants lead dignified and stable lives.
Our interventions begin by facilitating safe entry points, ensuring migrants can access territories without harm. In emergencies, we conduct rescue operations and offer essential death interventions to assist those in extreme distress. Homeless migrants receive priority attention through safe shelters at our dedicated homes, providing them with immediate security and stability.
Healthcare is a cornerstone of our mission. We ensure that migrants have access to medical care and wellness resources, addressing their physical and mental health needs. Special programs for migrant women focus on entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency, empowering them to achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life.
Education is another critical focus area. We prioritize quality educational opportunities for children of migrant families, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to build brighter futures. Outreach campaigns further amplify our impact, raising public awareness about migrant challenges and advocating for their rights.
Through these comprehensive efforts, we aim to create a world where every migrant can live with dignity, security, and opportunity, fostering sustainable development for individuals and their communities.
