Student Discussion Forum on Fundamental Rights

On November 27, SWTN, AICUF, and LISSTAR jointly organised a Student Discussion Forum on the theme “Fundamental Rights: Ensuring Social Justice for the Marginalised,” which saw the active participation of 127 students. The session began with the solemn reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India, setting the constitutional tone for the discussion. Distinguished resource persons elaborated on the historical origin of caste and the continuing denial of social justice to marginalised communities in the present context. The students actively engaged in the discussion by raising thoughtful and critical questions, to which the resource persons responded with clarity. The speakers encouraged the students to read Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s renowned book Annihilation of Caste to deepen their understanding of social inequality and justice.
