Dhivya from the Muttukadu village of Nainar Kuppam, Chengalpattu hailed from a fisherfolk background. She was heavily dependent on her husband to manage household expenses. Even with his earnings they’ve faced severe financial crunches. She and women in the community have enrolled in ARCALI’s training was ‘grafts making from Palm leaves. With the help of this training and financial aid from ARCALI, they have established a small setup of producing palm crafts and selling them in local shops. This small step toward their big dream of being entrepreneurs has brought significant change in her life. She has actively participated in the decision-making of her family.
