From a Small Trader to an Inspiring Entrepreneur
Mrs. Lourdu Jackulin, a resident of Nallavanpalayam in Thiruvannamalai district, began her journey as a micro-entrepreneur selling retail oil bottles. As a member of the first Migrant Self-Help Group (MSHG) under Jesuit Migrants Ministry External (JMMEx), she was inspired to save and dream bigger. In 2015, an entrepreneurship development meeting in Trichy provided her with critical training, financial guidance, and strategies to expand her business. With the support of JMMEx, Jackulin transitioned from retail sales to producing high-quality cold-pressed oil using a wooden pressing machine, acquired through her savings.
Her dedication and vision have transformed her business into a thriving enterprise, selling up to 1,500 liters monthly across major cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Trichy, and Thiruvannamalai. Recognizing the demand for healthy, traditional food, she plans to scale her operations further when her husband returns from abroad. Jackulin credits her success to JMMEx’s continuous support and mentorship, which has empowered her not only to achieve financial independence but also to inspire others in her community.
