Aari Work Training for Fisherfolk Women

On 15 September 2025, the Aari Work Training Program (Batch 1) was successfully launched by the Arcali Centre, Muttukadu, with the training conducted in Kadapakkam. This programme had benefited 20 fisherfolk women (limited number) to ensure effective and personalized learning. Each batch was conducted for three months to ensure proper skill development and the training was led by Mrs. Shakila, a skilled Aari work trainer from Kadapakkam.
The objective of the programme was to provide women with income-generating skills in Aari embroidery, help them earn from multiple sources, and prepare them to produce quality products.
The initiative marked a significant step in expanding livelihood opportunities in the textile craft sector. It created another long-term skill development pathway and laid the foundation for a new group of women entrepreneurs, enhancing their income stability.
