Children’s Day Celebration by JMS

On November 24, 2024, the Jesuit Migrants Service celebrated Children’s Day at Sacred Heart Church, Gummidipoondi. The event brought together 86 children from the local community for a day filled with joy, learning, and empowerment.

Themed around “Rights, Education, and Welfare of Children,” the celebration emphasized the importance of child rights and education as key drivers of development. The Parish Priest, Fr. Stalin, graced the occasion, inspiring the children with his encouraging words.

The event featured interactive games, competitions, and cultural performances, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and creativity among the children. The programme concluded with a discussion on the importance of education and the role children can play in shaping a better future.

The children left the event feeling motivated and valued, carrying with them the message of their inherent rights and responsibilities.
