Inauguration of the PALAVAI Tribal Centre, Kavarai

The PALAVAI Tribal Centre inaugurated the long-awaited PALAVAI Tribal Centre Tribal Centre at Kavarai on 24th February 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in Palavai’s decade-long commitment to the empowerment of the Irular tribal community.

The program was graced by Fr. General, Fr. Provincial, and their team, along with around 300 participants, including children and community members from Palavai’s working villages. The new center symbolized Palavai’s continued efforts in education, training, and advocacy for tribal welfare.

During the event, the “Sengathir Irular Women Federation” was formally launched, promoting women-led community leadership. The booklet “All Life Matters”, showcasing Palavai’s ten years of service and achievements, was also released. The event included the presentation of the “Defender of Dignity Award” to an individual recognized for their work in tribal welfare.

The inauguration fostered a deeper bond between the leadership and the community while communicating a clear vision for the center’s future. The day ended with a strong sense of pride, ownership, and renewed commitment to collective growth and empowerment.
