Workshop on Project Writing, Budget Preparation, Project Implementation, and Report Writing
The Province Development Office of Jesuit Chennai Province hosted a workshop focused on enhancing skills in project writing, budgeting, implementation, and reporting at Dhyana Ashram, Chennai from September 24 to 26, 2024. This is a collaborative initiative of the Jesuit Research and Development Society (JRDS) and the Province Development Offices of the South Zone. The workshop included 40 participants, including Jesuits, Priests, Sisters, and Lay collaborators from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Madurai and Chenna Provinces.
The workshop aimed to capacitate attendees with practical skills for effective project management. Engaging sessions led by Ms. Shruti, Ms. Jenifer, and Mr. Shinu Joseph included interactive group activities that made learning enjoyable. The workshop commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring Fr. Jebamalai Irudayaraj SJ, Provincial Jesuit Chennai Province, who emphasized the importance of project writing.
Key topics covered included the Theory of Change, community mapping, budgeting, and data management systems. Participants learned how to create impactful project proposals, indicating clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
The final day featured group presentations where participants showcased their project proposals, reflecting their acquired knowledge. The workshop concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where certificates were awarded by Fr. John Kumar SJ, Superior Dhyana Ashram highlighting the collaborative spirit fostered throughout the event. Vasanth, PDD of Chennai Province, assured that such capacitation programmes will be carried out at regular intervals to enhance the effectiveness of our mission and thanked the Province Administration for organizing such workshops.
Overall, the workshop provided a rich blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, facilitating networking and collaboration among participants, and promising continued support for future initiatives across regions.
