Urali Makkal Sangam Board Meeting and Branch Establishment

The PARAN Tribal Society organized a programme on December 22, 2024, to establish a new branch of the Urali Makkal Sangam (UMS) at Kanakunthur. Led by Fr. Kennedy SJ and UMS President Vel Murugan, the event brought together 230 participants, including leaders, women, and youth.

The programme aimed to unite scattered leaders, encourage collective decision-making, and expand the Sangam’s presence to more villages. Participants revisited the Sangam’s vision and mission, identified areas needing improvement, and strengthened their commitment to community development.

Key lessons included the importance of clear communication among leaders and the need to regularly reflect on their shared goals. By forming a federation, members recognized the strength in unity and the value of working together for their community’s progress.
